Why...One Day Better

One Day Better is a theme our family has embraced since 1999.  Our third child, Luke, was born in Oklahoma with many special needs that changed our lives forever.  Luke's life was spent in and out of the hospital and we would strive daily to make that day better than the last.

Luke went home to heaven in 2001, but we have kept this mantra throughout our lives in ministry and family.  In 2002, Jere started with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and began to use his writing to develop sports devotionals and eventually published two books under our life theme, One Day Better.

When Jere left FCA in 2011, we started One Day Better Sports Training to continue our work with young people in various sports in our area.  Luke's life gave us the push in our own lives to become better each day.

Now moving forward to today, this theme takes a new turn in my life with my diagnosis of Parkinson's.  My goal each day is to get better physically, emotionally, and spiritually as I fight back against this disease in my body.  We have decided to embrace this new season of my life through prayer, patience, and perseverance.  I have started working out each week and have even picked up boxing.  (Rocksolid)

Becoming One Day Better is a choice you have to make personally each day.  Life can be rough, but we have chosen to get better rather than bitter in our situation.  Life's challenges can be used to help us grow.  We are thankful for Luke's life and what we learned from his short time here on earth.
